Panel Edge Finish
This tick-box indicates if you need the specified edge "Finished" or "Unfinished".
A 'Finished' edge is used when it is a visible or seen, and an Unfinished edge (or raw edge) is where it is unseen (used mainly when the edge in question is against a wall and therefore unseen).
